"Hope. Learn. Honor. Reflect. Celebrate. Remember"

Project Overview

The Post 911 Memorial Garden serves as a place of remembrance and reflection, honoring the lives lost and the resilience of communities in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Located in the heart of downtown, this 2-acre contemplative landscape provides a peaceful retreat where visitors can process grief, find solace, and celebrate the enduring strength of the human spirit.

Our design approach emphasized the importance of creating multiple ways to experience remembrance - from intimate personal moments to larger community gatherings. The garden incorporates symbolic elements, native plantings, and thoughtful circulation patterns that guide visitors through a journey of reflection while maintaining accessibility and inclusivity.

Working closely with families, first responders, and community leaders, we created a space that transcends memorial traditions to become a living landscape of hope, resilience, and continued healing for current and future generations.
